Getting Started

Getting started is always the hardest.  When it comes to trip planning, where to go, then what to see and do can be overwhelming.  Same goes for the blog.

It is not as easy as I thought when I was pitching the idea to Dean over a bonfire and beers. I was still on my 3rd trip of the summer with teens in tow.  I was really happy with how the trips had turned out and I felt I had something to share.  So I started writing my posts on paper thinking I could start with a big bulk of content to read on the first visit.  Everyone would fall in love with my site, love me and my ideas and I would be an interweb success.  Then I got home.

Vacation euphoria wearing off, piles of laundry, no groceries, going back to work in 2 days and now my fabulous trips were behind me, I can’t write a blog about traveling with teenagers, I don’t have time for this.

Then I started, I started with just a few pictures, a few ideas and a little bit of detail.  The blog will grow over time,  maybe it will just be a few family and friends who want to see my trip pictures or my daughter’s friend’s mother wants to find out about our girls weekend and maybe use some ideas.

But that is not the point, the point is that I share.  I love my family, I love the nuggets of time with my kids and their friends when we travel, I love planning and I love writing.  So here I am sharing my ideas, my successes and failures.  Recording them so at the very least I remember what to do and what not to do.
