Mother/Daughter & Father/Son

This summer we have been fortunate to take several excursions.  I consider an excursion anything that is more than an hour away and you spend at least 8 hours and 2 meals away from home.  It does not need to be a multi-day hotel out of state extravaganza to count as an adventure for us.

Most of the excursions were of all 4 of us, some were just the girls or just the guys.  Why is it that you never hear about Father Daughter road trips or Mother Son hiking trips?

There is a long tradition of these types of trips between parent and children of the same gender, I know I have taken a ton with my mother and sister.  They are filled with late nights and laughter resulting in many funny stories.  (Some stories might not be at first but years down the road they will be, those are usually the funniest)

I heard the the Steelers Camp*  trip the boys took this summer was a blast, however I do not see me taking that one over next year.  I think that might be considered abandonment if we left for Pittsburgh without Dean.

My dilemma is that all of the interests Ethan and I share are also the Dean and Madie’s interests too; and we can’t leave them out.  Not sure where I am going with this one other than I would love some ideas other than I take the LAX tournament and Dean take the VB tournament.

Ladies, anyone with sons want to figure something out with me?

*Football Camp adventure details coming soon.  It will be the next trip itinerary posted.
